Let’s talk bit more about merger, I would suggest just do not see only the % of share holdings, also see the number of shares held by promoters.
Here are some numbers:
Promoter’s shares holding in TM: 91,553,901
Promoters shares holding in MS:501,843,740
Now just imagine, if Mahindra declares openly after financials that Tech Mahindra will merge into Mahindra Satyam. This news itself will bring Mahindra Satyam close to 130. Thereafter they will seek all the approvals and if that happens then Mahindra Satyam will be trading around 200.
Above process can take upto 6 months, thereafter they can declare swap ratio1:3 or 1:4. Once that is done, Mahindra Satyam will move as fast as possible to reach 300 marks. As the numbers held my promoter will quite high, they will be big winner.
As far as shareholders of TM are concern they will also get lot of benefit, if MS reaches to 300.
This looks little bit optimistic now but it can become reality.

you are mistaken mr. guest the face value of ms is rs. 2 not one ratio may or may not as per market price other cretarias will also be considered & taken in account it is internationally listed company can not merzed like this non of the above mentioned company was intenationally listed. let us see this is the 1st. case of this kind. we will see the outcome may may not faviorable....

Accenture, Satyam, L1 win UID deal
The goal of the programme is to give all Indian citizens a unique biometric identity

NEW DELHI: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has selected Accenture, Mahindra Satyam-Morpho and L1 Identity Solutions to implement the core biometric identification system in for the ‘Aadhaar’ programme. As reported by ET earlier, the Accenture-MindTree-Daon led the race, emerging as lowest bidders for the contract. The other two bidders had to match the price of Rs 2.75 per transaction quoted by Accenture-MindTree-Daon consortium.
The goal of the programme is to provide each Indian resident with a unique identification number – Aadhaar, and enable easier, more efficient and secure access to welfare schemes. The programme is designed to confirm the identity of the 1.2 billion residents of India, making it the largest identity management programme in the world.
Mahindra Satyam partnered France’s Morpho while HP partnered US-based L1 ID Solutions and India’s 4GID.
The initial phase of the contract will run up to two years and a total of 200 million residents are expected to be de-duplicated by a combination of the three Biometric Solution Agencies in the first stage of the program. The entire selection process was completed in record time of three months and many new international benchmarks, including one of the lowest prices for de-duplication have been achieved. The multi modal system and allocation of de-duplication transactions among the three agencies based on the performance of each system is being attempted for the first time in identity resolution systems anywhere.
The scope of work for the Biometrics Solution Providers will, include the design, supply, installation, commissioning, maintenance and support of multi-modal Automatic Biometric Identification Subsystem (ABIS) and multi-modal Software Development Kit (SDK) for client enrollment station, verification server, manual adjudication and monitoring function of the UID application.
These functions would go into creating the ability of UIDAI to ensure De-duplication during the allotment of UID numbers based on the Biometric information collected from the residents. The selection of Biometric solution vendors is a major milestone in the UID project.

MY COMENTS: In my opinion, this project will improve Brand Mahindra Satyam in domestic market similar to what FIFA did in the international market .Later similar solution can also be used and implemented in other countries....
So with indication of merger proceedings by October 15,we can now expect financials before that and no more delay...

Dear Goldfinger
I should first apologise if I sounded too "frivolous" as a senior boarder. But let me clarify my observations.
I do agree that UID is an unique project - but that does not make it a very profitable one.
There are many ways a company can show disinterest in a project - and one of them is to submit an unrealistic price so that you automatically "lose" the contract. So just a participation by a major company does not mean that they are really interested.
If one looks into the specs and scope of the work and one will realise the extent.
The project is similar to the creation of Social Security Numbers in USA. The country already has about a dozen "unique" identifiers like PAN No, Passport No, Driving Licence, ration card, Voter ID, etc, etc. Unfortunately each of these are handled by a different agency - who apparently dont see eye to eye. So one of the activities of this UID project is to bring a common platform and link each of these different numbers.
The projet is essentially to collect all data and do a simple dedupe - and then a whole lot of grunt work in terms of validation. The only software to be developed (worth its salt) is the deduping and indexing - and there are quite a few products readily available in the market.
Compare this project to building a complex application for an investment banker using Black & Scholes Methods or Monte Carlo iterations or some such high funda quant math stuff, and that too with response times in nano seconds, with a structure to calculate millions of calculations per second. That is Software Engineering - not taking photos of Jowar farmers in interior Bihar and indexing them.
However, there is definitely no doubt that this project is unique and very important to India - and most importantly - a pet project of the Congress Government. And the company which gets this contract holds a prestigious position. There is a lot of work to be done and one cannot pooh-pooh the overall scope. Great for the heart - but poor for the stomach.
Logically the company should exploit this prestigious position to further other positions in the market - but unfortunately the company is now being run by M`s - guys who make small trucks and disguise it as cars. Just remember it was this same M`s who originally decided to chuck the FIFA contract, till some one battered sense into their brains.
At end I still hope that Satyam will slowly limp back to its old glory. I have quite some positions - and all of them procured during the hey days (Rs.400+). So you can well imagine my causticity in expression.
